Default GT3 Callaway

It sure sounds as if Callaway is the designated builder for the C7 GT3. GM has approved them as the submitter of the necessary FIA paperwork. They have a history of racing the GT3 cars in Europe.

The big deal here is the World Challenge is using FIA GT3 rules and Tudor will use the same rules in 2016. Maybe.

We might see these cars here in the states. We can only hope.

Richard,

That is correct, we received the Letter of Homologation from General Motors, Chevrolet Division to be the manufacturer of GT3 cars for the new C7. Quite an honor to be selected. Thank you for posting!

In other news, I picked up a few books at the library this week, one being the "Ultimate garage Handbook", which you wrote. Small world

Chris, just curious but do you guys have any intention of ever making any of the parts available here in the US for some of us track guys? Most of us are still running the C6 so I know that there would be interest in parts for those but with the release of the new C7Z I'm sure there is going to be increasing interest in more track oriented parts for that car in the future too. Having the whole investment already made in developing the parts that are tested and proven it seems to me that you guys are almost missing the boat by not marketing them to the public here in the US.

Thank you for your feedback and interest in parts. I'll bring this forward for discussion - thanks

The garage book you found was a huge seller at one time. It may have started the whole garage trend. Phil Berg at the time was writing books about the fancy garages and I was doing the basic garage where you might actually work on cars.

Would be great to see C7 GT3's racing in the U.S.A, but do you think GM will "allow" one in the same series as Cadillac's ATS-V ?

Thanks. Here's a link to my blog. I'm doing a lot of stuff with Vintage Motorsport magazine these days.

It's almost like the old Corvette Fever days.

Has anyone heard or seen any updates from Callaway regarding C7 GT3 development progress? I'm curious if they've been on track yet or when their targeted 1st race is.

Searched the web, nothing found, even tweeted to Corvette Motorsport (Europe) with no response. Anyone else? Bueller?....
