How do they separate run groups? How many sessions per group per day?

ok it seems that this info is not posted. So here goes.
run groups are.
(Green) Novice
no track time to maybe 3-5 events. depends on your progress

Yellow (beginner) 2- 10 depends on your skills and desire to go a bit faster. most people want to do this as soon as possible.

Blue (intermediat) 4- ? you will be recommended by your instructor for this.

Black ( advanced) recomended by your instructor 10- .........
most here are instructor level drivers.

Red (instructor level) minimum 30 track days and Certified by a National sanctioning body (for NCM, BMW, NASA, Pclub events to name a few)

Green, Yellow & Blue students will have an instructor assigned.

most groups will schedule 20-30 min. sessions four times per day along with classroom time

the number of cars per group depends on the track length and instructor availability. NCM usually will have 20 -30 cars per group at VIR

Also, this event is usually attended by a lot of Corvette engineers from GM. That's something you don't get at a lot of other events.

I just signed up for HPDE 3 (Black/Advance Solo) Group! See you all there. Mike

NOTE: I mistakenly signed up for Blue Group. Who do I call to correct registration?

Just registered and am very excited for the event. First one with NCM, and first HPDE after being without an HPDE car for a couple of years.

At the risk of sounding like "that guy" (because I'm really really not), will NCM switch change your run group at the event if your on-track capabilities demonstrate the appropriate abilities? This ties in well with the run group thread that has been active here as well. The NCM runs differently than I've seen with their 4 groups instead of the 3 I'm used to.

I have a ton to learn, and want to keep learning as best and safely as possible. I just don't want the learning to be stunted if there is always a car train. I respect the organizers decisions, whatever they may be. That said, i may have self-selected a different group if it were left to me.

Thanks for the replies, I'm sure I'll have a great time and learn no matter what.

I think they will attempt to move you to the appropriate group if there is enough room.

Not that far away! Can't wait! Just ordered tires today!
