Disc brake quiet or silicone grease

No use putting anything on track pads, it just burns off.
For my street pads i found ceramics with a rubber backed coating on them and they seem to work silently without any brake quiet. So its really a matter of trial and error for the street in my experience. I figure the less goopy dirt attracting crap i can put on my car, the better.

If you use the car on the track the pads will get a lot hotter than driving on the street. Pads that are used for street/track like Hawk HP Plus can get up to 800 degrees and some others will get a few hundred degrees higher. Most anything you put on them will burn off.

I use it. When I don't, the squeal on the drive home is off the charts. Stopped @ a light coming back from Monticello and a kid on a bike, maybe 10 years old, says "mister, something is the matter with your car."
I do have to reapply each pad change which is a PITA but enough of it doesn't burn off to keep them reasonably quiet on the return trip.
