Default Homemade slip plates - got a pic?

Thinking of an upgrade from Home Depot plastic bags to ???

A description is fine if you can't post a pic.

What have you got?

Froggy,

I use 2 greased 12x12"x3/8" steel plates because:
1) steel supports weight better less flexing so plates stay flat and grease allows movement.
2) they are perfect size for 12x12x1/8" floor tiles used to build up plates for flat floor.

Saw a youtube video that was using two linoleum tiles with table salt sprinkled between them... haven't tried it, but seemed like a clever and cheap set up.

I'm a fan of the plastic yard trash bag with some detergent inside it. Seems plenty "slippy" to let things settle, it's cheap, and easy to replace.

I did this with mineral oil in between once. it worked.

I think I'll invest in some hubstands the next time I need to do all this.

This is what I use with dielectric grease between. easy to store away and stand up to multiple use.

I use pairs of 1/16" thick steel squares with wd-40 between them. Sand or salt sounds like something I may try. Less messy than grease or oil. Those plastic cutting sheets look like they may work well too and much easier to put away than a stack of steel with grease on it.

I use two linoleum tiles with a thin layer of playground sand in between. Playground sand is a very fine grain. Works great and is less messy than grease or oil. I take 8 tiles and a water bottle full of sand to the track.
