Default Battery drain during hpde's

My last hpde at ncm motorsports park on april 18...my battery volts dropped down to 11.8 volts.

I normally keep the car on a battery tender so i know it was fully charged before leaving atlanta the day prior.

Battery is only 2 years old but alternator is original. While the car is running volts are 13.8 to 14.2 or so.

2006 with 26,000 miles.

Should i just get a new stock alternator? Or a slightly higher output one...say 140amps or 160 amps?

This seems to only happen when weather is 80 degrees or more and track driving. Street driving i have no issues.

It is because of the heat ... I would not worry about it unless you spend 95% of your time on track or if the alternator does not perk up when it cools down.

Wouldn't to have the battery checked, could be early failure of one cell, especially with the higher G's on track.

I had the same problem at Homestead just past weekend.

Heat and high G's.

Lithium battery is the answer.
