They'll probably lower the sound limits even more.

Oh great. SCRAMP's non-profit status is one of the only reasons that the track hasn't been blackballed out of operation. It's been tough for the high dollar whiners to get much traction against the track when SCRAMP could point to the huge $$ it returns to the community.
Drive the track as many times as you can now... don't count on it being open to us lowlife for too much longer. Look for the Historics once a year, Nascar (oops, I meant IMSA/Tudor/Grand Am) once a year, and damn little else. Oh yeah... Nascar owns Indycar too. They'll probably get a date at there instead of Sears Point. Might as well keep it all in the France family!

While I am *far* from an ISC fan, I think it should be pointed out that the county is looking to have ISC manage the track, not own it. The property is still a county park and I suspect that it will remain so. To sell it off would require convincing the public and I think that's unlikely. And any changes of a meaningful nature would have to get the county's approval.

Also valid is that the more ISC (or anyone) can up the attendance (and therefore income to the county) the less sway any local homeowners would have re: closing it down.

The rules right now (IIRC) are that they can only run three "major" events each year, so they would have to make those (whatever they might be) more successful. More events than that are also not likely to happen.
