Reasonable priced coilovers for steet and occasional HPDE C5? Any Suggestions?
Doing the Tr6060 and C6 Z06 conversion on my 99 C5. The base springs and shocks have 120k+ on them so they need to be replaced. Figured it might be a good time to get into a set coil overs. It is a street car but want to try a HPDE once my build is done.
Are any of the sub $1500 coil over sets decent? Stance, Viking, QA1?
Obviously a set of Penske's would be nice but just do not have the money for those right now.
I also see a lot of Pfadt for sale used but most seem to be leaking or broken. Is there a problem with them or?
Was thinking of the stock C6 Z06 sway bars also.
Any thoughts?

Looks like there is a set of the LG G2 coilovers in the For Sale section - these are one of the best coilover setups you can get.

I run the Stance on my 99FRC, love them. The car's mostly used for autox and hillclimb's on a 40sec autox course I see an honest 1 to 1.5 sec improvement.

As for sub $1500 decent coilovers, nope, don't exist.

... If you don't mind inconsistency, broken adjusters and the shafts breaking off the top of the coil over
LG's are the best bang for the buck, hands down. If he wants the adjustablity and wants to save a few hundred over the G2's then I would recommend the GT2s and he'll never regret it.

Remember on our G2's they are all built to order....so while you may very well find a good deal on a used set, you may or may not have to change spring rates or shock valving depending on your use of it. We can do all of that here if need be. Very robust setup and should give you years of use with no problems.
Rich has been using our GT2's now for a few years and has won a number of races with them and for the money spent...yes killer setup. Rich can even set you up with a deal on either if you want to buy new, just give him a ring.
If you have any tech questions about them...shoot me a PM or email.

And further...how about a double adjustable? I get that maybe a dual use (i.e. AutoX / road course) product may not fit your market, but no one offers the G2 shock body in a double adjustable for our platform, except maybe Bilstein.
Of course, my car is available if you need a test mule

Anthony is there a reason you don't offer the G2s in an adjustable configuration? I could be wrong, but the GT2s do not look like the same Bilstiens?

Most of the customers are doing HPDE's and having fun with the car. Shock adjustments, while they can be worth it...generally are very small changes in a car setup as apposed to spring/bar/tire changes. That being said for those doing HPDE's...it is more about spending time behind the wheel with a solid proven setup that works....rather than working on your car.
I can do the fronts in an adjustable version but not the rears, at least not just yet. It adds $1300 to the set to do the fronts in a DA config, so not the cheapest route.
There is a variation of the shock I can do, like what we ran on the GrandAm car. Full DA race G2 coil overs are going to run approx $8400 for the set.

Their slogans "we race and you win" and "we blur the line between racing and street" is no joke. Nobody can test a product like Lou can and if it works for him on track, then it will work for us on track.
I'll be putting them to the test gain soon when I head to Fontana for Optima's Search for The Ultimate Street Car event next month and go against some guys with those drastically more expensive setups, more track support and lot's of sponsors.

Personally, for DE purposes I think adjustability is a waste. In all the years I've been doing this with my friends who have the ability to adjust their suspension once they found a setting they liked they never changed anything again regardless of the track. This was on multiple cars over the years. Based on that a non-adjustable suspension makes more sense to me. That's just my opinion.
