I have the above fuel jugs. The 50 state legal smeagle spout make them impossible to use. Actually spill more fuel than the open spout.
Do they make normal caps / spouts for these fuel jugs ?

You can get replacement caps and different hoses. Here's what I got from Amazon"
Cap
Hose
The end on the hose is a short piece of PVC 1/2" conduit with threads on the open end. The diameter of that piece is less than the diameter of the gas tank filler opening.

I think the vent in those JEG's fuel jugs have an internal vent in the spout (from the pic, it looks like it's the small tubing). IMHO, the VP jugs are a better deal and they have a separate vent. Amazon even has replacement vents for the VP jugs.

Make sure your jug and the cap are compatible. I have seen two different variations of the VP jug; one has a slight bevel on the lip of the jug and takes an O-ring in the cap, the other is flat across and uses a flat rubber gasket type cap seal.

It's interesting that Amazon shows the same part number (3042) but the descriptions are slightly different for the gasket/o-ring.

Use a funnel
Forget the spouts on the jugs. Use a 45 degree wide mouth funnel and solve flow/ venting / spill problems. I used this 14" D shaped one from Pegasus Racing for about 8 years without problem.

I had some VP jugs with custom fill hoses and high-flow vents, but switched to hunsakers and will never go back. The hunsakers cost a bit more but there's no comparison, they're high quality and dump in a hurry.
