Default C5 wheel question

Hello,

I'm a new C5 owner. I've done lots of autocrosses, HPDE, & one road race.

I know people have run 315/35-17s on all four corners on C5s. I have a few sets of these tires on hand, also. So I'm looking to buy rims to use these tires up on.

Will the ZR1 wheels work on all four corners? The specs are 17x11, 8 inch backspace, 50mm offset. I'm not concerned about light rubbing on the A arm, antiroll bar, fender liner. I am concerned that too much tire is sticking out and will destroy the fenders.

Does anyone know for sure? I'd rather not spend 3k+ on custom wheels if I can avoid it.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to bump this so soon. But, I'm pressed for time. There is an event the weekend of the 8th. If anyone knows please post up.

Thanks

They will fit, although most of us run the 18 x 10.5 square on the C5's. There are many more tire choices for this size too. Look here for used C5 zo6 rears. However mount up what you have and use them up!

I ran black Grand Sport 17x9.5 56 mm front and 17x11 50 mm rears on my C5. I ran 315 & 335 on rears and 275 mostly on front. I did run 315 on front 9.5 wheels once. They were Goodyear GSCS which run narrow.

I used to run C4 17x11 Grandsport Offset wheels with 315/35/17 tires all the way around. Only issue was the tire hitting the DRM brake duct and when I turned hard in a parking lot the inside edge of the rim would rub on the back side of the lower control arm and clean off any weights that might have been installed there. Car handled great with that setup. Much better than with the 9.5 front and 17x11 rear setup I ran for a couple years before that. When it became hard to find used 710s in those sizes I switched to C5Z rear 18x10.5 wheels with Hoosiers but the combination never worked like the C4 GS wheels did. That was one of the things that motivated me to move up to a C6Z.
