Default Brake Pad Suggestions

I am just getting into Road Racing and loving it.

I know that I am gonna get some very different opinions, but all the help would be appreciated.

I have a 2008 Z06 with cam/heads. Just got new front splitter and racing spoiler. R7 tires. Front brake duct cooling.

Been reading a lot about rotors and gonna stick with stock oem rotors. Ok to change every couple events since only do a couple a year.

I have read a lot about Carbotech's brakes. What combo would you recommend? Thinking xp12 front and xp10 rears. Should I go more or less aggressive?

XP12 XP10 is a good starting point for your mods. As you get faster with more seat time you can move up to XP20 or 24. I would also get some SRF brake fluid.

If you decide to go with Carbotech I will be happy to discuss pricing with you.

What tracks are you going to be going to? How much experience do you have as a driver? That does matter in what I would select for a pad on the car to some degree.

Do you drive the car to the event or trailer it?

She has become a trailer queen. Currently just running at VIR. Without the mods, running 2:09 there. These will be strictly for track and swapped back out for daily driving.

Thanks!!!

Thanks!!!

My suggestion would be the Cobalt XR1 compound front and rear. Work very well even cold if you need to do a short drive with the car. Excellent bite and torque modulation and will give you room to grow into.

Thanks everybody for the input!! CF is awesome.

After doing research until 3 am every night, reading the suggestions, and after calling Carbotech, I decided to go with the XP20 on the front and XP12 on the rear.

My next event at VIR is on the 18th and I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks again everyone!!!!
