Cracked wheel
Found a through and through crack on my front wheel spoke and a partial on the spoke next to it. while I'm sourcing a replacement would it be safe to run homestead tomorrow? It's pretty smooth. If anyone in SE Fla has set of fronts they wanna rent or a spare wheel call me 786-897-1418

It is not safe at all. Don't run it.

Wheel is trash and might let go at the worst time. Like next to another driver in a corner at speed.
Try doing a Help wheel needed in S florida post in the C6 C6Z section to get the word out. Call some Central and S Florida shops that are advertisers here that may be at the track. There is a huge wheel place in Melborne?
I'm a bit far away.
What wheels are those anyway? May be a good discussion for after you find a replacement.

Rest of wheels are fine
Have a local guy trying to sell me XXRs 2 for 450
Already spoke to John at Ccw he's gonna see what he can do about warranty. But he said I'd need 2 wheels. Can't help me today. Was in touch with Henry he has nothing for a z. I have 18x10 505 Ccw but they're only 10". Min is 11". Gonna be running NASCAR 3-4 that means 155 mph. Don't want bead coming off!

I know its getting late, may just end up going to your street tires like I had to do once. Depending on your brake setup you could also run C5Z rear wheels on the front.

That is a bummer. Haven't heard of CCW's cracking. Is that a model designed for/sold for track usage?

These wheels are for track use. One piece forged. They were made in 2007 and have been used in over 100 track days. John said that the forces on the wheels have increased exponentially since then and that the newer wheels are fabricated differently, making them stronger

Hmm, not many track days. Its hard to find good aftermarket rims with track-worthy durability. I recall Fiske rims being the cats meow super bling-bling, expensive, but would crack like that on the track.

Not sure what u mean in above sentence. I do believe that it is odd that a track wheel cracks but a lot of the track time was at Sebring a very bumpy high speed place

One piece or two piece doesn't matter, if a wheel has been on the track with stickies for over 6 years it's living on borrowed time. I broke a two piece CCW that was 6 years old, not fun. Forged aluminum starts loosing strength the day it leaves the forge and it's a matter of time and how it's stressed that determines how long it is before it fails, but it will fail.

This is why you should carefully inspect your wheels after every event.
It's also why you shouldn't powder coat wheels that are used on the track. The powder coating hides cracks.
Here's an article I wrote about track wheels last year.

I have lots of wheels and cracked a lot of wheels over the past 10 years. Some are polished, anodized and powder coated. I have cracked all types and spotting the cracks on powder coated wheels is not difficult.

John from Ccw is making me 2 wheels at cost! Wow! And they'll be ready in a week. I'm really happy with this customer svc. I've bought 2 sets of wheels from him and I'm glad I did. All of those worries about the new owners of CCW and the expected decline in customer care were definitely unfounded.
