Default Carbon Fiber or "other" under the front bumper?

I would like to apply a protective "skin" under the front bumper/nose on my c5z. I did see one company that had a part that screwed on (you drill holes?) but it was for c6. I emailed re: c5 but got no response.

A thin sheet of CF with adhesive on one side would be ideal I suppose.

Anyone ever try this? No splitter etc. just stock c5 nose.

jabrock is normally used for that.

Thanks, I googled a few pics. But I was thinking of something maybe thinner that I could mold/curve/fit to the contours of the nose.

It does not have to be able to take a lot of constant hits, like a low splitter. Just occasional parking bumper stuff.

You could just get some thin plywood and put a sealer on it to resists water, etc.

Worth a try, I guess I really don't want it to wrap up around the front of the nose much anyway.

1/4" or 3/8th" UHMW can be bought in sheets very abrasion resistant, Carbon fiber not so much.

Kevlar has much better abrasion resistance.

I have no experience with these guys, just a quick google search. Also saw some on ebay, but it wouldn't surprise me of that stuff was just yellow colored fiberglass.

HDPE sheeting, depending on thickness.

Works great for a wear surface, are you looking for a material to wrap or contour? Inexpensive to purchase especially if you can pick up locally, but shipping could get expensive if you require full 48" x 96" sheets.

It seems to me it will fit better if it will wrap a little bit, just want to cover the bottom edge where all the scrapes accumulate. Black would be nice to cover some already there.

Both UHMW and HDPE are available in black and could be heated up and molded into shape the High density poly ethylene would be a cheaper option and work how you want, if I was making pucks for the underneath of a splitter I would use the UHMW its that much tougher. Good luck with the project

UMHW available in self adhesive film strips .020" x 12" x 54' but listed only in "natural" color. Other options from PP if you search but not certain they have exactly what you are looking for.

I purchased 1/2" thickness for splitter attached to underside of Tigershark chin spoiler and close off beneath radiator. Using 1/8" thickness along with heat gun and rivet gun to fab radiator enclosure to complete front breather.
