Preparing new tires for the track
Was prepping my car 2010 GS for the last track day of the year and found the tires were not ok.
So I ordered new Michelin PSS and will get them mounted next week about 1 week before going to Mosport. What should I do to prpared the tires. I've never tracked brand new rubber before and would appreciate some advice.

Don,t worry. PSS tires are street tires and will be fine just mounting them and driving a bit to get rid of the release compound. I used them for the Mobil 1 Time - Attack season and although not fast, they were very predictable.
Who are you running with at Mosport?

I just put a new set of Bridgestone RE-11 on my GS for the start of the season down here in Fl (Sebring next month). Tire Rack recommend putting 500 miles on the tires before tracking.

As Solo mentioned, first key is removing the release compound so you're not sliding all over the place. The 100 - 500 mile theory (with a 24 hour cool down / rest period) is to help the rubber molecules bond better and resist tearing, ergo better grip and longer lasting. Same as what tirerack will do when you purchase their heat cycling I believe.
