Default Short notice - I need to make sound!

There is an event I'd like to run in two weeks. The location has a 100dB sound limit. My car has a Corsa Extreme exhaust on it and there is no way it isn't over 100 dB.

Ideas? Can I bolt on some silencers to the four tips? Any chance the extra restriction will cause the car to run lean?

Thanks in advance.

Default what year?

How about getting the aftermarket thing that will make it like the NPP exhaust with the baffles that open and close?? Or put a resonator on it.

Lol, I guess some car info would help. It is a 2002 ZO6 F/I.
I have no idea how that NPP stuff works.

For autox some guys use "turn downs" that is like a curved home dryer alum duct that points the exhaust & sound away from the sound meter location.

NPP works as follows.Below 3500 rpm's (or something like that) it's a quiet, stock.no sound exhaust.Above 3500 RPM'S or when you hit a button on a remote if you get that accessory, there is a baffle that opens up and it basically becomes almost a straight pipe kind of exhaust. There are after market vendors who sell kits for it.I don't know if there is one for the C5 Z but very possibly.I almost was going to say yours has it but that's the c6 Z. search NPP on the forum. CORSA PROBABLY MAKES A SYSTEM LIKE THAT and I know BORLA does.

Ah, IC. That system won't work then. They test sound at a location where the cars will be at the top of the rev range and wide open throttle.

Then just coast through that section of track where they're making the measurement!

Oh I see.Well,if you retrofit a stock C6 NPP exhaust to your car that might do it.I'm pretty sure there is a decibel measurement of the NPP somewhere on this forum If I remember correctly. Magnaflow is a pretty tame exhaust too.

Oof, those are $250 each. A grand to hopefully lose 10 dB is tough to swallow.

^ It's a Supertrapp tunable muffler tip. Started out in the motorcycle and boating world as far as I know.

Easiest and cheapest thing to do would be to put on a stock axleback.

That is a good idea. Any idea where I can find the specs on the stock axle-back? Tube size, attachment method, etc. Maybe it will work with what I have on the car.

I bought my 2002 Z with Borla Stingers already on it. Too loud of a drone for me. Picked up the stock Ti back end on Craigslist and bolted it up to my AR headers / X pipe.

I'm not concerned about drone. In the car at drone speed the transmission whine sliences all I just need < 100 dB at full throttle.

bolt on turn downs (like dryer conduit) can help, but not by much. I've also seen people put steel wool in their exhaust tip then cover it with some metal screen and a hose clamp. It works well for Autox, but I don't think it would last long enough for a track event.
