Default What ride height are C6 Z guys running.

I just put finspeed f110 18x11 18x13 on my car with r888's and I want to take up some fender gap. I'm going to be tracking this car and I'm just wondering what ride height some people are running with 18's?

I'd probably consult closely with whomever you got suspension parts from. Or atleast detail out what suspensions mods are on the car? (bushings/shocks/sway bars/etc)

If you just start lowering the car you could be limiting suspension travel which can lead to unpleasant results on the track. Something to consider.

Thanks for your reply. I fully understand lowering the car too much creates problems I'm talking with LG motorsports about coilovers in the near future but for right now the car is on stock suspension. I would just like to know what some people are running for ride height front and back.

On stock size wheels and tires tires I am at 26 3/16" front and 27 3/8" rear. Using LG coilovers.
Had to go that high on rear as I am running a 325/710 rear tire "on track" and got some rub at 27 even.
25 1/2" and 26 1/2" "Looked great", but did not handle as well as almost stockride height and rubbed like mad at Daytona.
Not to mention It's easier to jack when a bit higher.
Many T1 cars are only about an inch lower than stock. The slammed cars that show up at the track soon discover higher is better.

Im not talking about slamming my car Im talking about maybe a 1/2in the front and a 1/4in in the rear I might just do a 1/4 in the front and call it good.

I track mine at this height (on coilovers).....some people say it is too slammed and I caught a lot of criticism for it....but still get around track faster than most...

What is your rake and does it bottom out? Looks good not going that low but it looks good.

You're probably right in that you do get around quick but you may get around quicker if it wasn't so low. Have you ever done a comparison of the ride height versus handling?

I don't have coilovers but on my C5 Z I had it as low as it would go on stock bolts and would track it and when I raised it back up 3/4" it handled much better. The suspension just had no room to work with it as low as it would go.

LG coilovers (G2) lower the car about one inch and it is difficult to get it much higher (i have tried)

Not sure about the rake...but IMO, the C6Z can run a pretty low back end and still get away with it. *That was also stated by Randy at DRM as well. I haven't "bottom out" but it does rub in places in the inner liner...nothing bad and I rubbed in the same places when I was lowered on stock bolts running leaf springs. I also run OE stock 18/19 size tires for the track. Nothing wider or taller.

I never raised it to compare as I am just a weekend DE guy...however, the coils make it sit low and that is just how they work...see below.

I too run the LG G2 coils and these coils to bring the car down lower right out of the box. Handles nice and tight.

My c5z is all down front on stock adjusters, but that's not your question.

I did do a bump steer correction on the suspension geometry.
