The post-race show "F1 Extra" is shown immediately after the race
show whatever time that may be. the simplest way to make sure you
record it is to simply add enough extra time to the race broadcast recording to
get (a) any extra time that was needed to record the entire race
including any delays, and (b) "F1 Extra". My standard is to
add at least three hours (!) just to make sure I cover most eventualities.
I pull this info from from my Tivo's schedule. I have no guarantee that
it is correct but it usually is.

As I have said before, over the past 20-25 years Bernie has been aggressively single-minded and single-sighted re: prying open every cash-filled vault, treasury, and checkbook on the planet to his access. And he has done that with almost total disregard for the long-term consequences of those actions for the future of Formula One. He wanted the auto makers involved in F1 because they had the money to (a) ramp up the competition and (b) pay him a nice chunk as they drove past. But, as discussed in the above articles, he turned over the reins to those manufacturers and now we have what we see now.
If Bernie can't wrest control back from the likes of Merc & Ferrari then F1 as we have known it for the past half century will be gone. And, with that, I suspect that with no one really positioned to replace Bernie, F1 will rapidly lose favor with the public once he's gone.

It looks like Bernie and Mosley joined forces to make a revolution
In my opinion, the manufacturers are stronger then FOM at the momment. They are dictating rules that will enable them to test modern technology so that can be implemented into their commercial cars. F1 is a platform for testing technology. Important the same as marketing i think. And if Mercedes and Renault for example leave the sport because the rules are not suitable to them, F1 will loose a lot of money. And FOM is what if not all about money.
I was a bit surprised at Renault's statement. They said they will only spend 2 tokens for the Brazilian race that will give them tenth over a lap. And they have a lot more tokens to spend, but they decided to spend only 2. Here is the quote from Renault.
It’s not a question of tokens,” a Renault enginer is quoted as saying, “but the solutions. We have tokens but no solutions.”
Its kind of hard to believe Renault has lost their way in hybrid power units business though.
About Austin. I'm anxious to see Ferrari improvements on the PU. They should lessen the gap to Mercedes.

Just a reminder to everyone that tomorrow we get BOTH P1 AND P2.
It's gonna rain a bunch all weekend
http://www.pitpass.com/54974/Austin-...ent-for-months
Also note that the 9:30 AM start of the coverage of qualifying is a full 90 minutes before the actual start of qualifying (Bernie's schedule.) So one would assume that this is where Diffey and crew will "do their thing". Whether that's of any value to you/me/anyone is another thing altogether.

Red Bull (Mateshitz, actually) has spent all of the 2015 season throwing his toys out of his crib because of the injustice of it all and how no one wanted to fix things for him or take heed of his threats (Just friggin' go already!) The #1 bleat has been "give us a top-ranked motor or we're leaving."
Given this supposedly non-negotiable position (a position that both Ferrari and Merc basically laughed at) just how are we all supposed to believe that he'd now willingly settle for THE WORST power unit on the grid - a motor that makes the Renault units that he has capped on all year seem like a Saturn 5 rocket by comparison?
I just don't buy it. Unless there is something VERY off going on, I have to think that this is the insane motoring press testing their limits of credibility.
As an aside, I think Ferrari ought to have agreed to provide them with top-ranked 2016 power units BUT for an even $300 million

Ok, an update (sort of) on the scheduling for today (Saturday.)
It is the intent of NBCSN to start their show at 9:30 AM *PACIFIC* with Practice 3 (live) and then stay on the air right through qualifying. HOWEVER - the weather is the controlling factor and the FIA is prepared to either move things around a bit to try and make things work OR to simply nuke all of Saturday and do P3 and qualifying starting early Sunday morning. The FIA will (supposedly) announce their decision at 7:00 AM Austin time Saturday morning.
If the do kill all of Saturday then your guess is as good as mine what NBCSN will do at that point. I would think ('hope' is probably a better word) that they will be on the air at least for a short time to explain what's going on.
NBCSN might report what's happening here:
http://motorsports.nbcsports.com/2015/10/24/
But that's not guaranteed.
I'm looking at the Accuweather forecast for Austin and it calls for at least a 75% chance (up to 95% for a lot of the day) of rain throughout the day.
The good news is that Sunday looks to be rainless.

Yes, as posted above they did Q1 and Q2 starting at 9:00 AM Austin time. They managed to make it work but the rains came back for one last swipe and were getting heavier at the end of Q2. Plus, the teams were running out of full wet tire sets. So Charlie nuked Q3 and lined up the grid using the Q2+Q1 times.
