I just found out my 1986 convertible was actually a track car at the 1986 Indy 500 assigned to Marion County Sheriff Jim Wells at the time. I also understand there are Pace Car reunion events at the Indy 500 track where they let past pace/track cars drive on the race course.

Does anyone know if this is true, has done it, and where do I find out info about actually doing that?
