Default Daytona W/NASA chatter.

I gave 3 saftey classes at this event and they where all packed with corvette owners. ramble on about the event here. any stories?

Is whining I missed it due to brake issues a ramble? Brakes and wheels on order.

Would have loved to have gone to your class.

No canceled after having issues at Sebring. Almost bought a Miata but bought brakes instead.

hahah, you broke down. i would have bought a miata and had two race cars.


here is my video of the morning runs. my car has 500hp (crank) it felt like it could use a 200 shot threw the trioval.

Anyone hear what happened to the red C7Z that blew a R front tire in NASCAR 4?
Sounds like he did a fantastic job keeping off the wall. However lost a fender, liner, computer and windshield. Possibly a seat cushion?

A few other other teething problems creeping up with C7Z's, like catalytic converters not surviving the weekend.

We were there, running a "new" C5. We barely got all the safety stuff done before the event so we were running a 100% OEM parts suspension car on 275 Hoosiers and a crate LS1. Did a best of 2:03.xx on Sunday.

I was watching the C7Z (had TT'd with him earlier in the day, right behind him) when his tire let go. RF body work exploded, and it was pretty dramatic. Did a good job keeping it off the wall. A quick conversation with him indicated he was running 28 psi cold pressures, which is about 8 psi lower than what Hoosier recommended for Daytona.

Looked like a lot of damage (I'd guess $20k) but glad the driver was ok. He was wheeling the car pretty hard during the weekend
