I would replace the full set of tires when the fronts started to go away in the corners so I could probably have run the rears for 1 or 2 more track days. R2s and NT-01s seemed to wear the same. I never wore either tire down to the cords.

My 2003 C5 coupe had a full Z06 suspension, CCW Classic C5Z06 size wheels, and a track alignment (-2.5 deg. Front/-1.5 deg. rear camber).

How about the BFG Rival. Or if you are willing to trade life for more grip, then the Rival S.

This would be my choice for a street and track tire.

Seeing everyone else is getting 150-200+ runs on the RE-71Rs, I should sell my pair of 275/35-19s w/ only ~80 runs then. Any buyers? :-D

They stuck well right to the cords and never lost air. 3000 miles and 150 laps to the wearbars with some front cording pretty even wear. Not a daily driver.

I am presently trying out a set of Toyo T1 Sports for $629 full retail from a local dealer. $750 installed and balanced. A savings of $300 and rated at 220utqg. Not a lot of etire stores carry C5 correct sizes for the T1. Only found one place in CA with free shipping for the same money as I paid locally with sales tax. I live in FL and race year round. So far I find them equivalent to the PSS. Time will tell. I've all ready put 1200 miles on them and 15 runs with two people losing 1.5mm is all.

Mostly I high speed autocross on concrete and have a fairly aggressive alignment.

If these don't work out I'll go back to 200utqg performance tires for about the same money as Michelins only lasting one season BUT 15% grippier. Currently only Bridgestone R11's are a direct fit for me. If I play games with sizing to keep the fronts 1/2" smaller diameter for the computer's sanity I can do either Hankook RS3 or BFG 71's figuring one set/year like always before.

You have the wide rims on your Z06 so maybe you have a better selection of tire manufacturers?

The 40-100utqg tires are all pretty expensive $1200-1600 a set. Wouldn't take long to pay for a small tire trailer and hitch to hold the tools, gas can, brakes and jack stands?

I'm still missing (I may have overlooked) what exactly you plan to do with the car. You're going to get recommendations all over the map until you explain EXACTLY how, when, where, and why you drive the car.

Also, what are you're intended sizes? That's a big part with vette size wheel/tire combo's. There's not a lot of options in OEM sizes.

"Street tires" according to the SCCA Autocross rule book are 200 UTQG or higher. These street tires have come a long way in the last 3-4 years.

If you want a true "street tire" that won't disintegrate on track after 1 lap, Michelin PSS or similar are great.

Then there's the current crop of 200 UTQG "cheater" autocross tires like the RE71R's or the BFG RivalS. These won't last as long on the street, but are crazy grippy for "200" tires and are more than up to a few laps on the track.

R888's or NT-01 I wouldn't classify as "street tires". NT-01's could get really dicey driving on the street in the rain after they've worn a bit.

Give us some more details and you'll see the feedback start to zero in...

FWIW, I'm an autocross guy with HPDE habits. I've run RS-3 Hankooks for the last few years. This year I ran the RE71R and they are even better. I don't see how anyone could drive these tires to their limits on the street safely.

I agree from what I can tell. I saw a report that the Kumho V720 will get 17 new sizes in March. That means there is a good chance we can find a pair that will give us the same diameter front and rear to try on the 'Vettes.

The ones on the Viper are V720 ACR. From what I’ve heard it’s a very different tire than the V720 (non ACR). There have also been a few reports of the V720 (not V720 ACR) delaminating.

I am a bit worried too that they are not same tire without the ACR designation. The ACR 720s are obnoxiously heavy, so perhaps the only difference will be sidewall reinforcement (to deal with the downforce) and not much else in terms of compound and thread pattern.

The cup 2s delaminate like crazy too. I was hoping for an improvement.

They look completely different, does anyone know if they are going to expand the size range?
They look great! I can't believe that car is running those time on a 200tw tire.

This is what I mentioned earlier:

"A new extreme performance tire will be available to Kumho dealers in March 2016. Kumho Tire Co. Inc. is expanding the size range of the Ecsta V720, which is original equipment on the ACR model of the fifth generation Dodge Viper.

The Ecsta V720 will be offered in 17 sizes in 15- to 19-inch rim diameters, V, W and Y speed ratings and no mileage warranty. The Ecsta V720 replaces the Ecsta XS."

Tying the V720 to the V720 ACR looks like some marketing slid of hand. “ It’s the same tire that comes on the Viper” but it’s really not.

If you go to the web site linked in the release it does not list Viper sizes.

From reports from one of the top autocrossers in the nation that tested the V720 (non ACR) on a low horsepower car, I expect it to be close to the RE71 or Rival S at a lower cost. We will have to wait on larger sizes to see how it does on high horsepower cars.

I just saw that Tire Rack tested the V720 (non ACR). It fell between the Rival S and RE71 on dry lap times.

I hope they make 275-17 and 315-18 sizes.

So when they expand the range which one are we going to get?

I would be very surprised if we got new sizes in the V720 ACR, but that's only a guess on my part and tying to read between the lines of the press release. For me if they added sizes to the V720 ACR I would expect it to not meet the tread depth requirement or be banned by the SCCA for Street autocross Classes. So I would not be able to use it. They have already banned it in the CAM classes.

Cheater marketing from that company that gives us cheater tires.

I see that a 305/30-19 V720 showed up on TireRack. It is pending TW rating so it’s not yet legal for people needing 200TW.

I have a pair of the 355/30/19 V720 ACR but haven't got it to fit on the back of the c5z yet. My hope is that it would be a great drive to the track and track day tire, but I haven't been able to find any reviews from anyone who has used them that way...
