Anyone purchase one or know of one that comes with hearing protection built in?
Thanks

I would suggest doing what you have seen every pro driver do before he puts a helmet on. Stick some hearing protection in your ears, if you like get custom plugs made. Then you will have a tremendously larger selection of helmets to pick from.

Stilo's are an excellent helmet with nice ear muffs inside to cut down the noise. Just a little pricey though. A large number of top level pro drivers have them.

Stilo is a little rich for my hpde hobby. Guess I'll have to stick with regular earplugs.

You can get a set of custom ear molds. I wore them before using the radio. It helps. How loud is your car/what is it? I race a stock car, it's LOUD! Ear molds and a helmet make a difference, but at WFO around Daytona it's still LOUD!

The car is very loud. I had been using the squishy ear buds and they always want to fall out when I put my helmet on. I might try the custom ear molds and see if they stay in when I put my helmet on.

I've used duct tape over the ear to keep the ear buds in place when putting my helmet on. It works really well. Cloth medical type tape would probably be better but duct tape is what we had.

For the time-being you could try a set of plugs like these, they will probably not fall out, I hate the squishy plugs:

Some folks will put painters tape on their ears (over the ear plugs, even with ear molds) to help them stay in.

I use similar to that. The ones you squish up and stuff in are crap. Custom molds are best, get a string attached or you'll lose them.
