Default Is this tire safe?

On my third set of RE-11's, first time to see these dots between the tread.
Any one seen these before? Local Bridgestone dealers says not to worry, but can't tell me why.

The spots look like bug eggs or mold to me. Have you tried to scrape them off?

Spots are part of the tire, won't rub/scrape off. Spots showing only in that groove between tread in what appears to be random spacing around the tire. Spots in both fronts same groove, nothing in the rears. Tires have 4 track days at Sebring on them (9hrs).

Then I have no idea what’s going on or if it’s safe or not. Maybe some non-colored material that did not get fully mixed in when they compounded the rubber?

It's clearly dot matrix text of some sort. A message from satan no doubt...better get rid of those asap.

sometimes they print numbers on tires using dots like that. Had you checked out the treads when new?

This.

Pretty sure those are markings from the factory. They don't mark every tire in the same spot, but i've seen that before on my truck tires brand new.

Thanks for the reply, I expect its not a problem, still hoping to hear back from Bridgestone and/or Tire Rack with some kind of explanation on the purpose of the dots.

Some kind of code / number that was printed onto the tire (maybe in the wrong place) and about half of it was worn off as the tire was used.

You are correct. Heard from Tire Rack this morning, dots are from the manufacturing process and are not a safety issue.

Thats the good news, the bad news is, according to Tire Rack rep the 275/35/18 size is being discontinued in the RE-11 series tire. Bummer!
