Damn that looks great
Any chance of a few more close ups of the splitter? I had something very similar in mind and it's nice to see your final result.

I'm at work so I can't take anymore pictures right now, but I'll get some more for you guys this weekend.
I just have 2 support rods at each end of the bumper support. One towards the front of the splitter and one towards the rear. I also ran some metal strap from the bumper support for two more points of attachment.
The piece is so stiff that you can mount it however you want really. It's carbon layer over some aerospace foam on both sides. I don't even have a support in the middle, only on the ends and I can stand on the middle of the splitter and it doesn't bend.

Looks Great! Who was your contact at Wasp? Does the splitter run all the way back to the front wheels the entire width of the car? How much did it weigh? Was looking at Tegris as an alternative to the carbon fiber but the pricing seems reasonable.

Hate to see the carnage...Will have to admit I have KO'ed one splitter at Barber coming to hot into 9 and running straight over the gator. So you had so much down force on the splitter it would dip and drag in the center?!! Do you have the ZR1 reinforcement behind the fascia? I would expect with the CF splitter and flat bottom ZR1 CF splitter it would be pretty solid up there. I hit the mid 150's at RA before areo mods so I want to make sure I reinforce where needed before hand.

I do have the reinforcement, but the flat bottom wasn't bolted to the it. It was just hung with support rods. O well. Lesson learned.
The wasp splitter is fine because it wasn't on the car. I'll fix my mounting issue and it'll be stronger.

Wow.. sorry for the carnage as well. I've been thinking about adding a small extension to my C7 Carbon ZR1 front splitter... I have a base C6 so my bumper reinforcement is available. When we installed the splitter I spent a lot of time at the body shop fabricating some reinforcement in the form of flat aluminum stock run on the inside of the bumper and inside of the splitter. I also added support rods to the front of the car from the lip to the curved area of the bumper... just a little more support. I was very concerned about splitter wrapping under the car. That's what I'm concerned about with extending the lip even 1". I like the down force, but I don't want to track the bumper or worse...
I've been up to about 135 on the back straight at WGI with no issues. Coming into T1 at WGI.
Top of the esses at about 105MPH I'd estimate.

Yeah, that works. Extending it 1 or 2 inches with a flat bottom is fine, but you have to run supports up to the bumper support.
My mistake was I assumed my splitter was stiff enough not to need a middle support. I underestimated the force it would produce and it tilted forward over 100 mph and dragged the ground. It only dragged the very front point though. I'm confident if I run some middle supports to the bumper support that it will work perfectly.
I think that I'm going to go back to the plastic z06 lip and mount my wasp splitter underneath. The more I think about it, the more I realize that the zr1 splitter is not necessary with a big flat bottom like I have.
All in all I had a great track weekend at msr houston though. My first time this direction and managed to click off a 1:55.6. That's a tail end spec miata time. Not bad for 300 threadwear tires, but the car still has a lot of time in it. I'm giving up 5-7 seconds, but I'm still learning.
