Default TSW Nurburgring - What Tire Size?

Ok, so this post could go in the Wheels & Tires section.....but, I am posting here because I don't want to know what fits, I want to know what fits and performs best.

I am getting ready to buy a set of TSW Nurburgrings and new tires. FINALLY getting rid of run flats I am fairly set on the Michelin Pilot Super Sports, but my question is, what size tires should I put on. Running HPDE with these.

My initial thoughts are 265's up front and 305's for the rear. The Nurburgrings are 18x9 up front and 19x10.5 rears. The 265's and 305's are about the max I can fit. I think I could fit a 275 up front (Michelin says 275 minimum rim with is 9"). However, at what point is going to wide a negative for the rim size and negatively impacting handling?

Anyone running the Nuburgrings have a suggestion on tire size they are using, specifically interested if running on the track more than just driving around town. Open to suggestions, but again, fairly set on the rims and tires, just curious about sizes and feedback.

Or maybe the best question is, anyone running an 18x9 front and 19x10.5 rear have suggestions on tire width for optimal handling?

I run TSW 18x10.5's on all four corners and I need to sell them with our without the tires (Nitto NT05) in case you're interested.

I am on the hunt for a set of four 18 x 10.5 wheels for R compound rubber for track use. Are the TSW's at least as strong as the stock Speedlines? Any issues with tracking them? What is the offset compared to the stock 18 x 10.5 Speedlines?

PM me a price on the units you have.
Thanks.

TSW are great track wheels.. Light weight and strong. I have Nurburgring and I'm using INVO on the street and R888 for Track. R888 sizes are:
18”F 255/35ZR18
19”R 295/30ZR19

you could go with 305 in the rear, but the cost is a lot more, so I stuck with 295s.
On my C6 this gives me 0.9" stagger and AHC TC all work normally.

Sorry to thread crash but I'm sort of in the same boat as the OP. Except I want to run interlaggos 18x10.5 on all four corners with 305's in the front and 315's in the rear. Not sure if it'll fit...? .. On an 03 c5z

Yes they will fit, but why not run 305 F/R or 315 F/R so you can rotate tires?

I use that same TSW combo with 265 front and 305 rear. Fits fine on a base C6 and looks great. I had the RE11 305s on stock wheels it "fit" but felt very unstable up top (similar to how a car would feel without a sway bar). Swapped to these so the tire actually fit and 100% better.

Currently RE-11 up front and NT05r out back (used to be RE11 too)

Have you ever tracked the car with that setup?

I didn't think a 305 would fit on a stock 10" rim, might explain why it felt so unstable.

Exactly. It fit just I'm sure the tire was flexing under load because the tire was too wide for the narrow rim causing it to feel unstable up top. The TSW wheels are inexpensive and lighter than the stock wheels. I've drag raced the car but I have not formally put it on a track / autocross event. That's what I have the C7 for. C6 is a straight line monster and that's about it.
