Default March 2016 SCCA reclassing proposal for the C7

For those of you that compete in SCCA autocross events with your C7's, the Sports Car club of America's Solo Advisory Committe (SAC) and Solo Events Board (SEB) is seeking member input on a proposal that would reclass the base C7 and C7 Z51 Stingray from the Super Street (SS) class, where it would compete with cars like the C7 Z06, Porsche 911 GT3's over various generations, Ferrari 360 Modena and Nissan GT-R.

The proposal is seeking member input to move the base C7 and C7 Z51 to the A-Street (AS) class. This would place the base C7 and C7 Z51 in the same class as the C5 Z06 and non ZR1 C6's. Currently the class is very well represented by C5 and C6 Z06's. However, this proposal, if adopted, would allow the C7's to compete in what would likely be a far more favorable playing field. While the C5 and C6 Z06's have the availability of wider wheels compared to the C7, many argue that the Z51 chassis and driveline advancements such as the brakes and springs along with Electronic Limited Slip Differential could address some concerns.

As published in SCCA Fastrack News, March 2016, Page 10, under the Street category proposal #17748 seeks to

"Reclass base c7 Corvette to AS:
The SAC and SEB are seeking member input on the following classing change proposal:
move the following listing in Appendix A
as shown, effective1/1/2017:From SS to AS:
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (non-Z06) (2014-2016)"

Feedback on this proposal can be submitted online via a form at http://www.soloeventsboard.com.

Hopefully those of you who compete at SCCA autocross events with a C7 will take advantage of this opportunity to reclass the car a bit more favorably.

Definitely necro-posting here, but in the intervening years, the C7 hasn't exactly caught fire in A-Street either. A few have already written in letter for a move to B-Street. Write in if you're in favor of the move.

Do I understand correctly that we still have to wait to see if the board approves the changes?
