Default Kumho V720 265/18-305/19 Thoughts?

Just wondering if anyone has tried this setup as an alternative for C6Z06 wheel tire for 200TW class? This may be an alternative until the 305/19 Re71R are available.

I have a set of 255/40/17 fronts that I will run with the305/30/19 rears in mid-May, I'll let you know how they do...

In the Miata/small tire world people are suddenly raving about the V720...I'm hearing people thinking something must have changed recently.

Over-the-counter wheels can be found but they are not lightweight wheels:

Oz Superleggera III
Front, 18 x 9.5 59mm (with spacer)
Rear, 19 x 10.5 59mm (C5)
Rear, 19 x 11 75mm (C6 and C7)
.
From what I could tell, i think running the Kumho V720 in 265/18 front and 305/19 rear would be better than the RS3.

Unfortunately had to run the Rival S today, long story. I'll have the Kumhos on for sure at the Hotchkis event in Fontana 2nd weekend in June. Sorry about the delay.

Looks like June 11/12 in Fontana will be the first chance. They are mounted and ready, I'm running 255/40/17 on 9.5 in front and 305/30/19 on 11 in rear.

Ok so I ran them today at the unseasonably cool El Toro. I run in CAM-S because of wheel width but my C5 is only built up for A-Street, stock with a Strano front bar and Koni yellows. Previously I had a 315/30/18 Rival S on 18x10.5 square set up, so the Kumhos were giving up 6 sizes in the front with the 255/40/17 on a 9.5 front and a 305/30/19 rear. In my and my co-drivers opinion, the car felt slightly faster, much better balance, going from fairly tail happy with the Rivals to a little understeer on the Kumhos. You can tell the Kumho sidewalls are stiffer. The Kumho surprised us with its ability to put power down again I think slightly better. I think the 265/35/18 Kumho on a 18x10.5 on the front would be even better. I'm going to run them again next weekend in 100 degree heat at Fontana so I'll know more then...
