A lot of newer phones (both apple and android) have fancy cameras with autofocus features hardcoded into them, which makes for bad action/fast moving scenes. Harry's and other apps I've seen have a "lock focus" or "set infinity" focus option but made very little difference in the ~3 android phones I've messed with. I have a sony action cam and it's a million times better than any phone video footage I've seen. The new LG G5 has a wide angle camera, that might be OK if it has some image stabilization built in too.

I've never had an issue with shake or jitter with my iPhone 5.

I have a 5S that I should try. My 6 plus had a ton of shake to it.

This video was taken with Harry's and my iPhone5, no shake.

AIM Solo works great. It is very easy to use.

I have not figured out the data login software for the PC, but the Solo is great.

I would like to over lay lap data on GoPro video. The AIM Solo wont do that.

James Colborn makes a bunch of DIY videos for how to read the data off of a solo. i watched his videos and dropped 5 sec off my road atlanta time.

The AIM solo will do it but its not really a straight forward process, and I've only figured out how to watch a single lap at a time.

Yes yes yes! I too am tired of the juggling and checklists to enable the systems to work together at the track. Miss one step and boom, entire session of data and or video is trashed.

Aim SOLO/DL plus Smarty Cam (even though it's only 720p) solve all of this pretty cleanly.

I picked up a SOLO DL on a trial basis, I'll likely be keeping it. So much easier, put it in the car and go.
