Default A new racecar in the midwest

Not a new build, but I just worked out a deal for Wayne McKeen from AVI Racing's personal corvette racecar. Scheduling a shipper to pick it up in Arizona and drag it to Illinois. Now I need to start stockpiling tires, find a dyno/tuner to work with, and tear up the track some. I'll probably just run some time trials this year. Maybe next year I'll renew my w2w racing license. I could convert this to GT2 and run the SCCA runoffs at Indy next year, but I doubt I have budget.

Wayne took all be graphics off, but here are some before pics.

From NASA Nationals at Miller.

Some of you might remember that AVI is making lightweight tube frame GT1 monsters. I'd prefer one of these, but I'm too budget limited.

If you haven't lined up a shipper yet, we'd love to help! We're a midwestern company who ship all over the US. Feel free to give us a call M-F 8-5pm 847-557-0200 or check out our website. Beautiful racecar!

I booked the freight this morning, but will check your site now.

Next, buy some vinyl for numbers.

I live in East Dundee. I used to run NASA and MC back in the day. Last year I made it out to Blackhawk, Gridlife at Gingerman, and set a new record for the Dragon Hillclimb in NC with my sports racer.

I sent the seller Wayne a healthy stack of money. It's scheduled to be picked up Monday.

Nice. If you need a hand turning a wrench once you get it in hand let me know.

That thing looks beastly! I just started my racing career with NASA GTS2 (e36 M3) and having a blast.

That Tail of the Dragon Hill Climb looks very inviting.

Now that is some good karma!

I had young guy helping me out with the sports racer in return we autocrossed together, but he's doing other stuff now.

I will try to get to Blackhawk Memorial Day weekend for one day. I'm also trying to run Gridlife at Gingerman 6/10. The vette should be a strong unlimited class time attack car.

I've still yet to run on Gingerman, my goal is to get the C4 ready by memorial day weekend and run the HPDE to shake her down.

I think I saw pics posted here of that c4. Looked good.

Just focus on good brake pads, fresh fluid, and reliability and you'll be fine. It's not about setting track records, it's about sorting car quirks and learning.

You have come along way from running D Stock with MCSCC. Was it a Honda? Erik

P.S. I voted for you last fall.

It's a Prince LSR sportsracer. Weighs 850lbs and is powered by Suzuki GSXR1000 drivetrain. It now resides in South Florida.

Nice car - congrats!! Come race in GT2!! I'm hoping to race Indy Runoffs next year, if everything lines up. East Dundee - I think I've been to a bar there (or nearby) once...I get up to Chicagoland and the NW burbs (Schaumburg and West of there) quite a bit.
