Default Move C7 to AS/Not SS car

Somebody said, if enough people write the SCCA they will move the C7 to AS, where it should be. This is obvious looking at the SS Nat Solo results.
Anybody know the rightful address to address this wrongful classing?
Letters from others would be nice too!

I thought this was a done deal for 2017.

For 2017, the base C7 Stingray and C7 Z51 are going to A-Street.

Since you're in a letter writing mood, please take a moment to let the SEB & SAC know how you feel about the "participation requirement" of 35 cars to keep SSR alive. Those of us who drive in SSR are seeking to remove that requirement in an effort to keep the class viable. One other item being proposed is the street category wheel allowance which would among other things, open the C7's to mounting Hoosier A7's on 18 & 19 inch wheels.

Please take a moment and write that letter!

Conemark. Are you saying all Street Classes will be able to run A7's or similar? That's terrible if so, not a drive to and race anymore (without a semi).

Thanks everybody about AS/SS

I think they want to add the +-1" rule to SSR, or at least for 20" wheels since there are still no A7's in that size (although I thought Hoosier was working on this??).

What's being asked is to open up SSR to allow for the same 1 inch wheel allowance as the rest of the street classes.

Currently, SSR is limited to the OE diameters such as 17" & 18" for the C5 Z06's and 18" & 19" for the C6 Grand Sport and Z06's. By opening up the wheel allowance similar to the other street classes, the potential for someone with a narrow body C7 to run Hoosier A7's in an 18" and 19" tire is available.

It simply brings parity to SSR to what many of you who are running C7 Z51's now are doing. In this area of the country, I see many C7 autocrossers putting 18 & 19 inch base C7 wheels on their Z51's. Since the narrow body C7's are already in SSR, why not allow them a way to actually put R-compounds on should they want to run in SSR?

I certainly wouldn't want to dissuade a C7 owner from competing at an autocross by removing the aspect of driving to and from the event on the tires you compete on. Some of us just drive to the site on the purple stuff .

This was part of the discussion at the Town Hall meeting with the SEB (Solo Events Board) and the SAC (Stock Advisory Committee) in Lincoln during Nationals. There is no formal proposal out yet for member comment, but if enough letters come in, then it will go out for member comment in FastTrack.
