Default GT350 VS Z06 Lap battle!

After months of detailed planning and preparing our two cars for a perfectly even track match up, my buddy ruined our carefully planned out track battle.

I'm curious how the corvette guys think the two will compare.
We'll keep this updated as we go.

Which do you think will be faster? Which will be more fun?

Edit
Round 1!

Cool setup. All being even I have to give the gt350 the upper hand. Cam with supporting bolts ons and few suspension mods the c5z would have a chance.

As much as it pains me, my wager would be on the Mustang...

I'm curious on the overall lap time of the 350 vs Z06? I'm not sure if I missed if each car was stock or modded?

Cool vid fun to watch but The tire on the z is behind the tire on the gt350. Hard to see something left on the table against such a good car lol. A RS3 v2 would have been a good choice to go against that new pony. How equal are u guys as drivers? Would have been cool to see a lap time comparison using same driver both cars. again cool vids. Thanks.

Thanks, I would say were pretty equal drivers. Although when we were swapping rides Adam got out of the Z06 and said "holy ****, that was amazing, you're going to be disappointed by the ride in the gt350 because I'm not driving it nearly as hard as you are"

Adam was definitely still adjusting to the car. As evidenced by our laps at Road Atlanta. I set my fastest lap in the early cold air 1.43.08. Later in the day I ran a bunch of 1.43.7/8's but couldn't go any faster. He kept getting faster all day even as the temps rose.

Maybe the GT350's engine isn't as sensitive to higher ambient temps?

I have a C5Z with STOCK motor, coilovers and Hoosiers. At Sebring I regularly outrun every Mustang out there so far. Every BULLIT, GT 5.0, Cobra, Boss 302 and GT350. I will say that the Boss 302 is a good car that can hang with Porsche Carreras and similar level cars. The GT 350 is definitely a well equipped car. That car I am able to also outrun but JUST BARELY. The driver seems like he was rather experienced and I am a soloed driver usually among the fastest in my group at Chin. I have only seen one GT350 at the track so far but no other Mustang gives me a run for my money except that one,....but I still was about 1-2 sec faster. The GT350 pulls on me on the straights but I catch him enough on the turns and long sweepers where I can accelerate through the turn makes up much of the difference. On the longest straights a GT350 will pull 1 1/2-2 car lengths over the straight but I would make up about 2-3 car lengths per turn? For those wondering my lap times are 2:27 to 2:28 at Sebring.
