Daytona HPDE Dec 9-11, 2016
If you're interested in running the Rolex24 roadcourse at Daytona Int'l Speedway, the next good event is coming up Dec 9-11, 2016.
There's actually a PCA DE that's held in conjunction with their racing that will be going on Oct 21-23, but it's limited to PCA approved instructors or advanced solo drivers. And it may be filled up by now. In addition to the DE on the Rolex24 track, I believe they are also holding an Autocross at Daytona during the same time frame:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar...ml#eventpage_6
The REAL next event, that is open to novice through advanced drivers, is organized by two groups: an Audi club from northeast Ohio; and Hooked-on-Driving. You can register through either group.
This is a 3 day event, and you can register for 1, 2, or all 3 days.
Here's the Audi club site with info. You can see a link to an application form, or to motorsportreg.com and you can register either place:
http://www.audiclubohiovalley.org/pr...ional-speedway
Below is a link to the HoD site. Pull down the "Events" tab and select "Events Listings" and scroll down to the Daytona listings. It's very hard to find it, but there are some registration links where you can register for 1, 2, or 3 days:
https://www.hookedondriving.com/home
This is a really good event, and it is novice friendly. Even if you've never driven on a track before, you'll find the beginner group to be a good intro to a track experience - you'll have an instructor that will orient you on track protocol, flags and safety info, show you "the line", and much more.
Hope to c'ya at the track!!

But....I do understand that the Miata can be a great track car!!
So....you'll have a great time in the infield twisties and the Bus Stop in either one, but on the tri-oval the Vette will rule!!
I'll keep my eyes open for either one in December!! Look for my Laguna Blue C7 Z06.

I heard some good sounds coming from the Speedway over the weekend, but didn't know what was going on. I guess there was some club racing going on - whose event was it?
I'll be there next month to hopefully see you do 1:45! And I'll be shooting for 2:00!

If you can't make this one Dec 9-11, the next Daytona HPDE will be in April - link below has info:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-7-2017-a.html
After that one in April, the next ones in past years have all been in the fall, and I'm pretty sure that will hold for 2017.

I believe the next event after the April one will be forum member Henry Gilbert's outstanding HPDE Oct 6-8, 2017. Here's a link to his Performance Driving Group's site with info:
