Default Alignment Question C5 HPDE

Just wondering what camber guys are using for hpde with street tires. C5 is mostly used for track time - very few miles on street. I ran CMP last weekend and front tires showing heavy wear on shoulder/first inch of tread with left front being worse. Rears look ok.

Currently using the PDAFT -.7 camber front -.4 rear and toe -1/16.

PDAFT track with street tires camber is -1.3front, -.9rear.

On the sticky 'C5 track car/HPDE' I found:

For the newbie dual purpose street / track HPDE car with NON slicks a good place to start (rubber bushings and street tires):
======> Camber, Caster, Toe
Front:==> -1.6, 8.0, 0 Height at Mid Fender: 27 3/8
Rear: ==> -1.0, N/A, -1/8" Height at Mid Fender: 27 7/8

The -1.6 sounds better to me?

I have LG G2/bilstein coil overs, poly bushings, C6 Z51 sways.

First pic is right front, second is left front.

Thanks!

Are those Nitto Invos? I don't know much about them but Nitto should have have recommended camber settings. I'm sure .7 is not enough to keep them alive on track very long. 1.5 front and .8 rear would probably be a good place to be and is attainable with the stock eccentrics.

Yes Invos should have mentioned that. Will probably change brands once these are worn. I do have the poly bushing kit with adjustable/offset dogbones (upper a-arms).

I ran -1.3 front and -0.8 rear with pretty good success on a BFG KDW tire (similar to the Invo). I would recommend -1.5 on front since I still wore the outside of the tire a tad on the fronts with the -1.3.

Was thinking (based on reading tons of threads):

front
-1.8 (or even -2.0)
toe 0 or -1/16
caster 7.5-8

Rear
-1.0
toe -1/16

Street wear is not an issue at this time.

In the front.. AMAYCG...... As Much As You Can Get.....

In the back a half a degree less than the front*.

* - you may have to pull the rear locating pin or ovalize the hole in the frame to get equal negative camber in the back...

Running a street alignment on the track is never good.

-1.8 and -1.0 is a good street tire alignment for track use.

The stickier the tire the more negative camber you need.

I know.. my first track weekend I was slow and cautious. Second weekend I turned it up a bit and started killing the fronts. Still probably only using 2 or 3 tenths of the car.

Your first problem is your TIRES....not your suspension. NOTE: Notto INVO is NOT a track tire. They have little traction and terrible wear!!!
Almost ANY other tire is better for track (think Nitto NT-05), but the "best street (Non R-comp) tire would be the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

I know they are not a track tire... just trying to get even tire wear right now with alignment. Been told to learn on cheaper tires.. then when I put my pss's on I will be that much better. Not trying to set lap times - just learn driving right now. I already had the invos.

Any tire is a track tire as long as its newer than 2 years and has good tread.

Novices need to learn on a crap tire, it teaches you a bunch.
