Oiling Issues at Daytona??
Looking to get feedback on running Daytona in a 06 c6z with stock oiling system with upgrade to 2009 tank. With the extended left bank turns and the possibility of starving engine of oil, should this be a concern? I know there could be a million questions on my skill level and on and on. I am just looking for a general opinion if there is an issue with this track and this engine. Thanks for any input

I ran daytona twice once for runoffs so we were going at it pretty hard. I was in stock 55mm restrictor engine wetsump scca t2 c5z06 and had zero problems. My restricted car was good for 149 on the banking and 160 on front straight. With drysump c6z I can't imagine any problems even though you will carry more speed and more g's.

Never had a problem at Daytona w a Lingenfelter tank which is equivalent to the 09 up to 175.
Looking at datalogs, even at stupid speeds the areas of NASCAR 2 and 4 you are not actually putting the sideload G's into the car you do on many long flat roadcourse corners. Lots of the G load is down to the point many cars sit on the bumpstops.

The original problem that the early C6 Z06 had was determined to be in left-hand sweepers of greater than 1 lateral G for more than 4 seconds, and it was that there were some oil pressure spikes observed in some data-logging.
In 2009 the tank was enlarged and I believe the time was lengthened to something like 7 seconds.
However, with blkbrd69 that at Daytona it's just not a factor in an HPDE car.
You are in essentially a long left-hand sweeper, but unless you have a race prepped car with very sticky tires, and you're doing probably 170+ mph around the banking, you just won't see a sustained lateral G of greater than 1 G.
I don't know what the scale is on the G meter on blkbrd69's video, but on mine you can see the lateral G's I'm pulling at the top center of the video.
This is of my 2006 C6 Z06 with the stock small dry sump tank at Daytona, and the lateral G's are bumping around from 0.5 to 1.0 when I'm up on the banking doing 145-150 mph at the end of the banked sections, but I'm not sustaining >1G. That old video was on the old bumpy surface, and it has been repaved since then and is much smoother, so you might sustain .75 or so for a very short time at higher speed toward the end of NASCAR T2 and T4.
Bottom line - you shouldn't have any problem with oil pressure at Daytona.
C'ya at the track!!

I'll be instructing at the event this weekend, so I'll see you there!
Depending on my student load I'd like to run you around the track in my car to show you how I drive the track.
I signed up for a garage but wasn't on the list. I emailed them and they said "oh yeah - we missed you, but will assign you on when you register". So...I don't know what garage I'll be in, but look for my Laguna Blue C7 Z06.
