I have noticed the new Piloti shoes seem a little on the tight side lately. Anyone find a shoe that runs wider?

Depends on the Puma though. The Futurecats run really narrow but are my go-to driving shoe. Some of their Tazon line are not bad but really are no difference than any other tennis shoe, in my opinion.

Appreciate the replies, guys. I tried on several of the new (restart of production) Pilotis at the NCM paddock store but found them to be really snug compared to the older Pilotis I have. Can't find too many suppliers of the Orecas on this side of the ocean. The Pumas sound like good quality but the Amazon reviews say a little on the tight side, too. I know it is desirable to have a snug fit but my foot is a tad too wide for comfort. I might be able to get another season out of what I have until I can try on some more shoes.

I have the sparco 77 shoes you see on Amazon. I find the sole of the shoe is too narrow for heel/toeing for me. I wear a regular new balance shoe on the track because of the wider bottom

I never thought of Piloti's as track shoes. If your going to get a track shoe wouldn't you want a fireproof shoe? I think one of the Pilotis are fireproof, but most are not.

In W2W we have to wear an FIA approved which is, indeed, fireproof. When driving at a track day I prefer a low top more comfortable shoe. One that is reinforced for h/t shifts, though.

Update: Craig, of USRacegear, suggested Simpson Adrenalines. I'll give these a try. If these are too tight I'll try flip-flops. I have been known to run a session or two in leather soled roper's.

Update: the Simpsons do fit snug but not quite as snug as the new Pilotis. Plus, I like the relief in the back of the ankle area. As most know that high top on most shoes can really get irritating while walking around.

I run these shoes whenever I'm in the race cars, it's a dirt track shoe, don't be taken back by that - it has what I consider to be a great safety design - you see the flap over the laces - keeps dripping fluids OUT of the shoe. They are VERY comfortable. I've got a wide (D) foot and they fit great. Only draw back is that getting them on is a PITA. The price is right too:

I find the OMP to run a bit narrow but need that to keep my foot from hitting brake and gas unintentionally. I think the key with any shoe is to take it off when you are not in the car. I try to avoid walking around the paddock in them.
