Default How close can I get to Randy Pobst's Lap in the Z28 @ Barber MSP in a C5Z06? Vid!

So the plan was to run my f-body against Randy's time in the Z28 1:36.17 but the f-body broke.
All explained here + a detailed look at how the 295/30-18 Trofeo R compares to the 305/30-19 Trofeo R.
Cliff's notes- It's a significantly less aggressive tire unfortunately.

Despite being a less aggressive tread pattern, it's still a pretty poor rain tire compared to the RE71R.

Finally the lap. This was the 8th ever lap, and between the event being oversold, rain, 2 accidents, and multiple mechanical failures, the track was fouled with oil most of the weekend. So I never managed a clean lap.
Comparing Randy's data to mine was very revealing though. If you want to see a full detailed look at how much worse of a driver I am compared to Randy please subscribe to the channel.

Less aggressive tread pattern than an RE71R? You can tell just simply by looking at the tread design on the Trofeo R that it will be TERRIBLE in the rain, far worse than the RE71R.

No, I was saying that the 295 trofeo R is less aggressive than the 305 trofeo R, it's a significantly modified tread design. I knew Michelin was doing that with the Cup2 and PSS. I didn't realize others were doing it too.

Either way, what I was seeing was due more to the compound I think. There wasn't any standing water, the track was just barely damp.
