Default metal to metal sound from front left wheel when turning?

Just started today. When I turn hard right I get a metal to metal sound... Sounds like my steel braided brake lines were rubbing the rim. But I checked and found no rub marks.

I also didn't notice any play in the wheel bearing and it turns fine when off the ground.

Any ideas on what would cause my drivers side wheel to make a slight metal to metal sound when turning right?

is it a grinding/rubbing noise or a clinking noise?

More of a grinding sound. It sounds like the metal brake lines are rubbing the inner wheel, but there are no marks, so I don't think that is what is happening.

Im hoping its not a wheel bearing going out.

I don't know what you are asking in the second post.

Jack car up and spin wheel, shake wheel, look at caliper to make sure its tight--If you have more than 15,000 miles, proably a wheel bearing

I have close to 90k on the car...

What are the signs of a bad wheel bearing?

It only does it when I turn right.

check for rocks around the caliper. I have seen them pick up rocks and scrape against rim/rotor. Just a thought.

try turning on a flat surface and see if it repeats. Jack it up and see if there is freeplay in the bearing and rotate the tire to see what you feel.

I will remove the brakes and check them.

When I turn the wheel it turns fine. No sounds or woobling.

One thing that is a little strange:

When I tighten the wheel lugs on the front left wheel. I get them tight... And then the wheel re-adjusts and I have to re-tighten it. It's like its getting caught on a lip around the bearing area. has this ever happened to you guys?

BTW: John, you should have recieved a check by now. Feel free to let it clear before shipping out the headers and X pipe.

Red 5:
If by "turn hard" you mean turning the wheel to the locks, and you have wide rims, it might be that the inside of the rim is rubbing on the lower control arm. That a very common interference in C5's with wider than factory front rims.

I had a student once that picked up a bolt and it lodged itself between the caliper and rotor.

Jack it up and see if there is freeplay in the bearing and rotate the tire to see what you feel.
Once you have it jacked up, grab the wheel at the 6 and 12 o'clock position and try an rock it back and forth. If you feel a slight wiggle and a bit of a clunk (for lack of a better description), and you will know if it wiggles, your bearing is shot and needs to be replaced ASAP.
