Default SCCA insurance

Is anyone familiar with the SCCA insurance?
the web site says. 1 million $ medical coverage for SCCA events.
there is a clause that states.. 3rd party medical limited coverage at events, but it doesn't specify if it is at other events such as BMW, or just SCCA.

Since I don't auto-x anymore, and I don't forsee myself doing any SCCA type events, I may drop my SCCA membership. But it would be worth keeping it if the insurance coverage was there, and I like the magazine.

I see the SCCA does driver schools, but it seems geared towards racing, and it needs a fully prepped race car.

do they do any driver ed type schools? open track type of stuff?

Default

SCCA Insurance is only in effect at SCCA Sanctioned events.
As for lapping stuff, that's very region dependent. I'm not familiar with any regions that do though. The Drivers Schools are generally there for licensing purposes I believe.
