1958 Corvette Go cart
1958 corvette Go Cart
What we have here is an all original 1958 corvette gocart that was a display model in a dealership before its many years of abuse. This go cart has some body damage and the motor is unsure of running(it ran about 3 years ago). I am posting this for a friend who received this from his father years ago. I am very unsure what the value of this go cart is worth, but I it would look great if it were restored to new condition. If you are interested or know anything about this go cart, please let me know. Thank you.

Shipping estimates
Well The shipping lady at my work just got back to me the other day. Using a freight company through my work we can ship this thing for a reasonable amount. The people that gave me Zips were in Maryland and Pennsylvania, so the cost were about $100 to a business and about $165 to a residence to both of these states. Local pick up is also avalable. I will be posting this go cart on ebay to make this a ligiet sale. As soon as I get it posted I will post the link on here. Starting bid will be $195.00. I am an experienced Ebayer with many positive feedbacks, so bid with confidence. I accept Paypal and money orders sent with usps delivery confirmation ONLY. Please email me with any questions. Wow,
Cart went for $876.76.
It was at $650.00 an hour ago and I was going to go up a little, maybe $700.00. Oh Well.
Could have been a cool winter project.

This is great!
Greetings. I am new to this forum. I have the same go cart sitting in my garage. It is even the same color. The one posted here is the first other one I have seen after years of looking and research.
My grandfather gave me mine when I was about 5. I start it about every year to make sure it will stay running.
Mine is in similar condition to the one in the photo.
What I have learned, from asking around at car shows, etc., is that when Chevy introduced the Corvette, they sent 300 to 500 of these to dealers for promotion. I thought, however, that its was a 1953, not a 1958.
My father had a series collector offer him $5,000, sight unseen. He turned it down because he thought I would want the car to give to my son, if I ever had one.
Well, I have a five year old now, but, if these things are really as rare as I have been told, and hence valuable, I would rather put the money in a college fund and buy my son a cheap Norther Tool go cart.
Any more thoughts on these? Thanks!

Cart Trunk
Greeting, my trunk would not be the best for you to use, as it has a crack down the center (from where my father sat on it when I was driving it as a kid; spark plug burned a hole in his pants). I would be happy to trace it for you, but you will not be able to pull the curve off of mine.
The engine is a 2 1/4 HP or 2 and 3/4 HP. I am sure of that. At one point I thought it was a Clinton, but that doesn't seem right as I am typing this. I'll check and let you know.
Any word on a market for these? They do appear rare. The guy who offered the $5K was at a Kruise classic car auction/show. He had about six cherry Corvettes in his tent, including a 1968 L-88. When my dad (I was about 10 at the time and am now 35) mentioned what we had, the guy about came out of his skin in excitement. After a few minutes, he tried to hide it, but you could tell he felt like he had just stumbled across a jewel.
This is a great forum, by the way.
