1957 repop body 1959 frame '66 283/350 Project
For this project, I am asking 6000 (down from 12k). I've been offered that before (12), back when I thought this was the project for me. Now I realize it is not and i'm trying to get some cash. If you dont like my price, email me an offer to skattruggles@yahoo.com. Thanks. I'm in Northern California.
PLEASE LOOK AT ALL PICTURES AND READ ALL OF THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE CONTACTING ME
I have a clear title. Titled as a 1959 corvette. Probably should have been registered as a kit but somehow the guy i got it from got it registered as a 1959 (frame number). The frame has race history from the sacramento/ ca bay area.
This project needs a lot of work. It is a late 60s mid 70s chevrolet dealership promotional one piece fiberglass body. It is sitting on top of a 1959 corvette frame. It has a custom front axle from MAS that the previous owner who raced it in the 70s 80s and 90s had made for it. The chevy has a 9" ford rear that has been drilled for a chevy pattern. The engine is a '66 283 mated with a 350 tranny. NO BRAKES HOOKED UP. Runs, but does not stop haha. No rear suspension.
The body is mounted to the frame with wood, steel and fiberglass. To be roadworthy, a floor, firewall, dash, and body reinforcements will need to be fabbed out of steel. This is usually where people get scared away, but you shoudl be able to use the existing wood as a template. Shouldnt be TOO hard.
Work that needs to be done:
Floor reinforcements/ firewall/ dash/ body supports fabricated
Brakes hooked up
Seats mounted
Shifter purchased and mounted
Body and paint
Guages purchased and hooked up
Electrical hooked up
Battery tray fabricated
Fuel cell fabricated
Complete rear suspension purchased and fabricated
New tires
Again, this car needs work, but will be worth some money when completed.
heres all of the pics. Look at them ALL before making an offer or coming out. thanks.

I've been getting too much traffic to my photobucket account, so they're about to suspend my account. Please view the pictures here, on my other image hosting account.

Are the body mounts the same as a stock C1?
So does it have a 9" rear axle or no rear suspension at all or is the 9" just not attached to the frame????
How thick is the body fiberglass?
Is the body hand laid, press molded, chopper gunned?
How are the hood and trunk lid attached?
Has the frame been tubbed in the rear?
Where is this located?
Thanks,
Charles

The body mounts are not c1 body mounts, they were custom fabricated for the rear, and i'm not sure about the fronts, but i'm sure its safte to assume they were fabbed as well. The body sits securely to the frame, but it is by way of wood and steel...
I should have made this clearer, sorry... It has rear suspension, but it is NOT reliable. It is simply a piece of tubing held (securely) to the 9" rear by bulky u bolt assembly. The previous owner did it this way so he could roll it around the yard I suppose. Check out the link... I can take a bette picture soon.

I'm fairly certain there have been no modifications to the stock '59 frame.
I took a quick measurement from the trunk lid. It measured 3/8" thick.
"Is the body hand laid, press molded, chopper gunned?" I have no idea. If you can tell me how I can tell, I'll be happy to let you know. The guy who I got this project from said there were about 400 of these bodies made. I'm not sure how reliable that information is, but this is what I'm told.
The hood is simply not attatched, it just lays in there. The trunk is held in place by two deep bolts, as you can see in the following link.
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/j...i/PC190660.jpg
The bolts go deep into / past the wood.
Finally, I am located in northern california. Dixon in particular, just west of sacramento on i 80.
Thanks for the interest!

Yep...that is for sure the car that was listed in I think Prescott, AZ (about an hour or so north of Phoenix) because I emailed the car to my dad and told him between his fiberglass skills and my woodworking I would probably be doing the most work on that car. LOL.

Anyone interested at 9k? Thats really as low as I can go... I saw a refurbished 59 rolling chassis NOT sell on ebay for 9k- it didnt meet the reserve. I had a local guy come out and say he was going to buy it for 10k but he didnt come back. I just want to move on. Thanks everyone.
