1961 Fuelie/Big Brake/Racecar for Sale?
Hey Guys and Girls,
I honestly haven't the slightest idea whether or not this car was ever a real SCCA or LeMans racecar or not. Every post leads me one way or the other. You can read all of them here:
http://http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-and-c2-corvettes/2309806-61-corvette-racecar.html
I hope the URL worked. If not, please go back to the C1 & C2 forum, and look for the "61 Corvette Racecar?" thread. And yes, the question mark should be highlighted.
Long story short, I have a 1961 Corvette for sale now. As many of us have heard over the years, I would love to keep it, but cannot because of job, wife, kids, etc. There is absolutely no way I can give this car the love it needs, and I know there are many that can.
It is almost certainly an original fuelie, and had big brakes at some point. Whether or not that was an original RPO on this car I cannot tell you.
The body is bareboned and naked, all in primer and fiberglass.
It comes with Rally rims and skins, but does not have a motor. It does have the period correct transmission, and other accompanying components. As of this second, I have access to a period correct fuel injected motor as well.
I am asking $22,500 for the girl as she sits. When/If I am able to procure the motor and fuel injection set-up, I would obviously have to ask more.
Considering the fact that this car is Jewel Blue AND a Fuelie, makes it an unbelievably rare car. Many of you know me and know that I am a early fibreglass freak - if I did not already have my '66, I would do everything in my power to keep this little gem.
As I said before, the car is on eBay, but I would MUCH rather sell it to one of my Corvette Forum peeps. I would love to see a person that has never owned the 'vette of their dreams finally get the one they want, and be as enamoured with it as much as I am.
Please call or email with any questions about the car. Or, just to talk about Corvettes. I cannot say enough about how much the people on this site have done to help me, and I just hope that I can give enough back.
Sincerely,
dunney

Sorry crossram. I thought the ebay link posted, but I guess not.
Please let me know if this one works:
http://http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120412862278 &sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewite m=
Also, I edited the link in my first post back to the original forum thread as well.
Someone please let me know if these links work or not.
Thanks,
dunney

Good to hear from you Theron. I hope your resto is going well.
Also, a convenient bump for this car.
It's going in this week for paint. If there are any takers, speak now or forever hold your peace. The price is obviously going up once it's painted Jewel Blue...
