Default For Sale: 1966 Silver Corvette factory air Coupe

66 Silver Coupe for sale. The car is very clean but not a frame off but an awesome vette that you can jump in a drive with no worries. Options include, C60 FACTORY AIR, A01 Soft Ray Tinted Glass, A31 Power Windows, N40 Power Steering, J50 Power Brakes, V74 Traffic Hazard Lamp Switch. Yes, the numbers on the engine, heads, etc, match. It does have a 77 GM service replacement carb.

The car has had the 300 hp engine rebuilt 4 years ago (located in Hunting Beach California) at which time it was converted to a 4 speed using all period correct parts. The internals of the engine were also worked on so that it is now putting out around 400hp. The car was completely gone through and anything that needed work was completed correctly with period parts, springs, exhaust, tires. Please see the scan of the invoice to review all work completed (will be posted this weekend). I have replaced the carpet and completely lined the floorboards both front and rear with Dinomat and heat shield. This allows a very nice driving experience without all the heat from the transmission and exhaust pipes. I have driven the car in very heavy traffic as I used to use it to drive out the Hamptons during the summer months and the car runs very cool. All corvettes provide different driving experiences; this car is tight and very fast.

The car has an ALPINE radio hidden in the glove box to retain the original look control area with all wires hidden and a hook up for a iPod hidden under the passenger seat.

$48,500

So does converting from powerglide to 4 speed devalue the car ? What is the correct price for a car like this - nice options but it has a conversion and I guess with that come many unknows and as such dumps the value of the car ? All sorts of things are affected i would think and then add on the a/c - raditator ??

Asking $48 - I am thinking mid 30's ??

Am I off course ??

maybe just keep looking. Anyone in Westchester Co - Somers Ny that can take a peek ?/

People,

Some of you guys are being pretty tough on this dude. Strikes me as a pretty nice ride. A properly retrofitted 4spd is worth more than the 2 speed slushbox it left St Louis with.

To answer Avideo: hopefully the original trans has been melted down by now to make a case for a Tremec 6 speed for a ZO6.

Rather than try to lowball its value (publicly) with information gathered from 8 pictures, why don't you contact the seller and see what you can negotiate?

You'll never buy that car for $30k. Converting from a PG to a 4-speed only hurts value to whoever wants to buy it. The seller stated that it was done correctly with period correct parts. Stop beating up this guys car. You are not helping to advance the sale.

i would not be worried about the powerglide. There are still alot of them around. Get one go through it and stamp it. It is now a correct car. Original no, but who is going to check that far? Besides that be up front and tell who ever asks that it is correct but the tranny has been replaced..

I have spoken to the owner - car sounds nice. Can you experts look over the photo's and tell me what you see - does it look correct. In the past some have noted it had the wrong vette emblem on the rear deck or gas lid or the engine is missing the ???.

Do we have anyone in the Somers NY area that could take a look at this car for me ?? and just give me a private opinion on what they saw.
Thanks

Lance

On a purchase this large there really is no substitute for looking at it yourself. Plus you would be 35 minutes from manhattan and could make a really nice weekend out of it. I just got back from a 1400 mile journey and I'm glad I checked it out myself because although it was a fair deal it was not what I wanted. However if you can work it out with the seller I would be willing to look at the car for you. Make a list of what is important to you and email me with it. I just don't want to be part of a jerk job with the guy. I'm very active in that community personally and professionally. Let me know my schedule is flexible. Glenn.

Really nice Vette.
Too bad you have to sell it. Good luck with the sale!
