Heres the offical invite to the Rolex Historics !

1963 Chevrolet Corvette

Reunion Group: 5A

Pre-Reunion Group:

Welcome to the 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion! We are honored to have your participation this year and to help us celebrate the 60th anniversary of the venerable Chevrolet Corvette.

Our new entry request process delayed us a bit and caused some minor confusion for some, and for that, we do apologize. But now that your information is in the system, it will be much easier next time…we promise!

You will be kept apprised of new information as it becomes available, including an entrant packet that has detailed information on move-in, gate access and other activities.

If you are in the Monterey area on Saturday, August 10, you may want to consider joining fellow Pre-Reunion participants at the lovely Dining in the Vines Saturday evening. It is a fun and casual affair high atop the scenic Carmel Valley. It is $95 per person and includes transportation from Mazda Raceway.

For accommodation information, I would like to recommend contacting www.Resort2me.com. They work with all the properties and can assist in finding accommodations that suits your needs.

If you have questions regarding the preparation of you car, please contact Cris Vandagriff at hmsa@hmsausa.com or (818) 249-3515.

We greatly look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula and the unforgettable Monterey Classic Car Week.

Best,

Gill Campbell

Hello; Is the 500hp at the flywheel or wheels?..do you have a dyno printout, any build specs, compression ratio?....4 wheel disc brakes?, if so what type/brand?...has the transmission & differential & driveshaft, been upgraded to handle the increased HP?....Thanks!, Mark

500 at the flywheel, 425 rear wheel. Have several sheets with great horse power and torque numbers 12.5:1 compression, full roller motor.Built for dependabily, not silly horse power numbers....
The trans is a M21 and was rebuilt, using oversized Torington bearings, and new gears, and the rear diff was rebuilt as well. It does have four wheel disc brakes. New calipers and 2 peice rotors.

About 30 laps on the the drive train, thats it !!

This is a very dependable, easy to run car.

RACE SEASON IS HERE !!!

Pat Usher from Portland, Oregon bought the car in 1966 raced it autocross first, then SCCA B/P until 1978. Talked to his crew chief back in the day. The car was Black and very fast with an added 427 big block. I spoke with Dan Pearson and his Dad who raced for several years in the North West. Then the car went up to Canada for a while with some good success and stories. Rolly Thibault owned and drove it. He was a wealth of information about the car. Recently discovered log book and roll bar # 90-309 which is Wichita, Kansas. More research is underway. If I had my health, this car would be in my garage and on the track MAY 16-18 at SONOMA with Steve Earle's Classic event, and then RMMR at MONTEREY Aug 15.

This is a no brainer. Car is ready.......turn the key, and HAVE FUN. LIFE IS GOOD
