Default WTB C2 Driver

Well, I made a deal on Friday and closed the deal on it today.

http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...e/1764608.html

Thanks for the comments below, and for one forum member for checking it out in person before I made the trip (1200 miles round trip).

Yes it is # matching L79
Has build sheet showing black vinyl hard top, original radio works. The original hood, ignition shield and original shifter were included.

Paint is a 7 or 8

It isn't perfect, but it is a very nice matching # driver.

Yes the pictures from another car were mixed in, no wave in the fender, and body/frame/birdcage were good.

I would also never drop $40k on a vintage car without seeing it, but since I am no expert, I wanted some help with what I should focus on and if it was worth the drive/effort. It was!!!

Default Buy it!

Tank sticker, original L79, teak wheel, black vinyl hardtop(only 67). If it runs ok, this looks like a great deal from the photos. I'd bet it is already sold. if not, you better hurry. J I am not an expert.

Default 67

I've owned dozens, and no expert either.
Some things obvious.
They have photos of another car mixed in with these.
Photo that has leaf spring running parallel with tire is one,you can see
Solid axle in back ground.
Next photo is of a non corvette body mount and what appears to be the bottom of a sheet metal trunk pan.
So from the leaf spring photo on I would disregard any of photos of frame
Etc.
Obviously hood is incorrect, and driver front body line appears wavy, could be the lighting.
Would be nice to have photos of engine bay where inner and outer fenders meet.
If it has a decent body/frame/birdcage in my opinion it's a good buy

Looking for a driver. Prefer 63, 66 and 67.

When I was looking last year, this forum was awesome at providing me info to help sort out the overpriced and junk, hoping for that again.

In my search I found this one today. Looking for expert opinions on it.

It looks like a nice clean one, but a little more than I want to spend on one. I will have to settle for a little less of a car. GLWS

I would not buy an old Corvette or any other car without seeing it first, and would never advise anyone else to.
