For Sale: 1963 Numbers matching Corvette Roadster.
Offered for sale is a well-sorted roadster. This car has a 325/300 hp numbers matching original engine with its original Muncie 4-speed transmission with Hurst shifter. The car went through an extensive body restoration in 2012-13 by the prior owner who owned the car for 37 years. The fiberglass was restored front to rear with new chrome bumpers front and back. The car was painted 2012 Cadillac SRX Crystal Claret Pearl Tricolor, a three-stage paint that is very close to the 1960’s maroon, but with a beautiful pearl finish. New gas tank was installed during body restoration. PO installed new Edelbrock 4-barrel carb with chrome performance intake manifold, stainless headers running to sidepipes. A high efficiency radiator and new water pump and thermostat housing were also installed with new hoses. PO installed fiberglass covers on the sidepipes painted body color (original aluminum sidepipe covers included with car). PO also installed Dayton knock-off wire wheels (original rally wheels, trim rings and hubcaps included with car). Black convertible top is in good condition but could use new seals. Original hard top included with car, needs headliner and seals. Odometer reads 22K, which PO claimed is accurate, but I cannot verify that.
I purchased the car last spring, and since then have put over $10,000 into mechanical restoration. Most of the work was performed by Eisemann Corvettes in Jupiter, FL, and The Vette Stop in Ft. Lauderdale. (Receipts for recent work available.) Recent work includes:
*New clutch, resurfaced flywheel, new pilot bearing.
*New radiator fan and clutch, car runs cool even in Florida weather.
*New Delco-Remy alternator.
*Original distributor rebuilt, converted to Pertronix, with new vacuum advance unit.
*New windshield wiper motor and dash switch installed. Wipers work great.
*New headlight motors and dash switch installed.
*3:36 differential fully overhauled and serviced, and new seals throughout.
*New front and rear suspension bushings.
*New tie rods installed.
*New front and rear shocks.
*New drive shaft and output yoke with new rear seal on transmission, new universals.
*All new universals throughout the drive train, on drive shaft and output shafts.
*New rear leaf spring.
*New parking brake cable.
*New front and rear brake shoes.
*New rear wheel bearings.
*New shaft and bearings in steering column. Column and steering box fully serviced.
*New turn signal mechanism installed.
*New Cooper white wall tires (215/70R15).
*More that I can’t remember to list.
I also have several boxes of original parts that I have not sorted but includes original valve covers, original AM/FM radio and assorted other stuff that will be included with the car.
This is a well-sorted car with great eye appeal that runs great and can be driven comfortably and with confidence. Everything that most cars need has been done short of a body-off restoration. I know it’s not NCRS correct, but it looks great and mechanically has everything you would want done.
