Default Any Pilots out there? C2 Vette wanted.

Looking to trade my beautiful, meticulously maintained Piper Comanche 250 for the right 1964-1967 Corvette. Full specs and pictures here:

Thanks,
Mitch McInelly

Just curious, what is involved in learning to fly that plane for someone without a pilot's license?

The short answer is about 60 hours of flying, 100 hours of ground school, and about $8k. I run a flight school, so let me know if you're interested.

I am kind of intrigued. But I live in CO.
How many seats in the plane?

It's a 4 seat airplane. It cruises at 180 mph on about 12 gph. About the same gas mileage as my Expedition, but a lot faster.

12 mpg is better than my 67.
What does it cost to maintain an airplane like that for a year: insurance, maintenance, etc.?

I spend about $1,300 on full coverage insurance, and about $1000-$3000 on the annual inspection - depending on what has to be done. I usually upgrade something while the mech has the airplane apart.

What about a hangar, anything else? I am kind of tire kicking (or is it wing kicking) but this is interesting!

I have my own hangar, but where I live in Coeur d'Alene, ID it cost about $200 per month for hangar space. Of course you have gas, which is about $5.25 per gallon for aviation fuel.

Tell me about you Vette?

I answered this once but it didn't seem to stick - so sorry if it's a repost. Hangar costs where I live in Coeru d'Alene, ID run about. $200/mo.

Looks like a fairly priced, well represented airplane. Good luck.
