the trim and vin tag is 194376SI16839 ( St Louis 16,839 built corvette) / Body build date is G= march / approximate actual day is 17 or march 17) / T022IIP Tonawanda motor Feb 21 / 425hp maual transmission / Bell Housing casting No is 3872444 / engine casting date is L135 = Dec 13, 1965 / the engine casting date is when the block was cast and the engine assembly date is when the engine was assembled and they line up within 6 mo and 1 mo before body assembly. The frame rail number is 839 and the kick up rail number is 839 equal to the glove box and trim numbers. The rear end number is FA3866=3.70 ratio posi traction. I have owned the car since 8/4/1990. no original dealer documentation. hope this helps. I do have pictures of the off body. thank you

Does this car have it's original "born with" engine?

Is the original VIN derivative stamped on the engine pad along with the engine suffix code?

Just to be clear, I am asking if this is car has the original engine that came in it when it was manufactured?

The phrase "numbers match" does not answer these questions?

I have owned car since 1991, prior to purchase an in-dept analysis was performed and conclusion reached ...the engine is the original engine to the car.
