Default WTB....'64 Coupe - Daytona Blue

Starting what I'm sure will end up being a lengthy search, but Im not in a big hurry...

Specifically looking for:

1964 Coupe
Daytona Blue
327/365
4spd

Interested in anything short of full on NCRS car.

Planning to travel to thoroughly inspect the car in person, regardless of location.

If you have one, or know of someone who does, please contact/forward my information.

Cheers,
Greg

When I was at Mecum in Kissimmee, there was a pretty '64 Daytona Blue coupe that I believe was a fuelie. It was in the The Bid Goes On area and I think the last bid was $80k. Nice looking car, you might research this.

Thanks for the info...Ill look into it just as a reference....specifically not looking for a fuelie due to the price premium. My ideal car would be a 327/365 4 spd on the higher end of the "driver" spectrum as it will definitely see some miles under my care. That being said, Id certainly consider something nicer, just not interested in NCRS/Top Flight museum pieces that I'd be hesitant to put miles on.

Default Daytona Blue

One of the colors GM should have continued with.

I looked it up at the Mecum site and it was the first '64 to go across the block. They don't have a picture on file, though. Says it's numbers matching.

very cool...I was able to find the same car that went across the block and sold in the 2016 Mecum auction, but it didn't have a sale price listed. The estimate was 85-95....Beautiful car....

Thanks! I believe that ones been for sale for a few months now. Based on the window sticker they show in the video, its a 327/300, which isn't necessarily a deal breaker, but I definitely think their asking price is a little on the high side based on the motor and the paint condition. Again, neither would be a deal breaker, but the price would definitely have to reflect both.

Thanks very much...Ill definitely give them a call and see what they say but Im 95% sure that particular car sold a while ago at another classic car dealership. The reason I say that is because I have the above photo, and the rest from the original "for sale ad" saved on my computer. It appears that SMCLASSICCARS.com just compiles ads from all over the internet for classic cars. There were at least 3 other Daytona Blue '64s on the site that I know for a fact have been sold over the past year.

Interesting, thanks. Figure a 5-10K premium because it was at a big fancy auction.

Greg- I agree that a 64 coupe in Daytona blue is a stunning car, with a light interior it's my personal favorite!

I hope you find just the right solid lifter car

That one is a scam....that image is from an ebay listing a few weeks back from Classic Cars of Lake Ozark...I followed the auction but forget what it ended up selling for.

keep us posted how they inspect! I will say that that the 327/300 is smooth and torquey for pleasure driving but I find myself wanting "more" at times...

I realize that you're looking for a coupe, but the convertible in the attached link is stunning (IMHO). It's your preferred color with a red interior and white soft top; a gorgeous color combination. Maybe buy a matched set . . . coupe AND roadster?
