Default WTB- 1965 FI or 396 only.

Hi. I have narrowed my search down to a 1965 Corvette, which must be either a Fuel Injection or a 396. Below are my parameters in buying a car:

- Must be a Documented Fuelie or 396 by means of an Original Protecto Plate, Window Sticker, Sales Contract, etc. (no fake paperwork). Must also have the ORIGINAL Trim Tag, no reproductions.

or

- Must be documented in Noland Adams C2 Technical Guide at the end of the 1965 Chapter.

- Must have the ORIGINAL, born with MOTOR. I am not looking for any cars with re-stamped engine pads, and will have the pad verified before traveling to your location. Must also have the ORIGINAL, born with Trinm Tag. I rcently looked at 3 FI Corvettes at one dealership, which 2 of them were documented in Noland Adam's book, and two of them had aftermarket Trim Tags, and the last had round rivets in the VIN tag, even though it was a late production 65.

- I prefer a convertible, and will give first priority to convertibles.

- I do not care if the car is an NCRS Top Flight, Bloomington Gold, or just an everyday driver. The Documentation of a Protecto Plate, Noland Adams book, and Original born with motor are my most important priorities.

*** I will be at Bloomington Gold in Indy this June, as well as the NCRS Nationals in Texas in July. If you have a car that you'll bring there for sale, or bringing a car to be judged that meets my needs, and would like to sell it at the event, please contact me ASAP. ***

Please let me know what you might have for sale, or if you know of one for sale. I will be patient to buy the right car, as this will be a car to keep for many years to come, as well as my fully documented 1963 factory A/C convertible. I prefer to buy a Corvette from a Private Party, and not a dealer.

Please get in touch with me by email, PM, calls or texts. My contact information is below.

Thanks for looking,

Steve

Hi FullControl.

Thanks for the info. Jack's 65 doesn't have any documentation, and he normally stresses in his ads if it has the original, matching #s motor.

The search continues,

Steve

Still looking. Have seen in person, and also offered a few 65s recently, even Corvettes that were in Noland Adams book, but they had reproduction Trim Tags. I am not interested in buying any car without an original Trim Tag, since I will be having the car judged at the next event after I make the purchase.

Thanks again,

Steve

Hi 7007vette and Fullcontrol,

I have seen this 65 396 for sale since last November. I contacted the owner a few months ago, and haven't set up a meet yet. He is a few hour drive away. The Trim Tag is definitely Original, as I have very clean and clear photos of it. It does have 3 Top Flight awards, but none are National. Two of them are Chapter and one is Regional, all dating back to 2007, 2008 and 2009. He also does not have the Judging sheets, as the car was Judged by the previous owner. By the way, it is an A O Smith body, so the side pipes were not put on at the factory. He also doesn't have any Documentation on the car, like a POP or Window Sticker, etc.

I'll keep all posted if and when I make it up that way.

Thanks for your assistance,

Steve
