Bob,

It is very easy to weld new tabs on the header for the visors. Much cheeper than getting a new one. If you are in my area, Virginia, bring yours by I will do it for you. I have my 60 header apart at this time, let me know.

Bob,
I have a couple of NOS headers in the overhead, but had surgery and can't climb up there for a couple of weeks. If your header has no holes in it, then adding the holes will be a piece of cake, but filling old holes seldom looks good. There are some expert trim guys out there that can fill old holes and make them look good, but they are not cheap! If one of my buddies comes over this weekend, I will have him climb up and pull one of mine down and send you the measurements. Drop me an Email and I will send you the info. I have promised to send the measurements to two others as well, but just have not been able to get at them!

Regards, John McGraw

I had a guy in NY fill the holes in a header for me and "recon" the rest of the header. I think I paid $15 ea for the holes and about another $100 to take out a couple of small dents and buff the entire molding. Looked great and was back to me in about 10 days.

Addendum: The holes I had him fill were in the wrong position. I measured and drilled holes in the correct spot before sending it to him and marked the holes to be filled with a sharpie. When I got it back, I attached my own backing plate to the inside of the header with JB Weld.

I've got a bent one you can have if you want to pay the UPS. It could probably be straightened. It's off of a totalled 62 I bought years ago and just one of the parts collecting dust in my garage. Please take it off of my hands.

Hey K2

If Bob is not interested in your offer, I would certainly be up for taking a shot at straightening that moulding. Not trying to jump in on Bob's post here, just wanting a chance if he is not interested!

Thanks,

Greg

Default Windshield top trim

Grossmuller back East $500.00, Mary Jo in LA area $600.00, I am looking for a replacement too. Prices are for polished, ready to go piece (with sunvisor holes). My 59 windshield top trim CANNOT be straigtened/restored, so it is for sale. It is dimensionally fine, would be good for a race car or a C1 where the hardtop is not removed. My local chromer and Grossmuller both stated that the piece cannot be restored. If interested e-mail me at underrail@msn.com. Shipping in a tube was about $15.00 with $500.00 insurance (Grossemullers recommendation when I sent it for a core evaluation).

I just bought a top moulding with sunvisor holes. As soon as I get it and swap on my pieces, I will have a non-sunvisor moulding for sale if anyone is interested. It is pretty nice, no tears or major scratches, but would need to be polished to be perfect.
