linkage Edelbrock EDL-1406 carb & adjusting
A friend has a 600 cfm Edelbrock carb (EDL-1306) on his 1960 corvette..........first question what are the initial carb idle settings...seems to run best at 3/4 turn , also the linkage is real BUBBA.........Would the stock 60 Vette , linkage , accelerater lever , rod spring ect .work ?the linkage on it now is a sloppy mess thanks.......................the Dog

You can't set idle mixture based on "turns" - it's set by adjusting them using a vacuum gauge, to get highest steady vacuum reading - won't necessarily be the same "turns" for either screw or from carb to carb.

Most Edelbrock carbs are set from the factory and should only need fine tuning after you start the motor. Use a dwell tach and vacuum gauge to set the idle. Check mixture after motor has run so pull a plug and see what color it looks like. You should have received a tune up sheet with the carb. Or go to edelbrock's web site and they have help files for your carb. Jets are usually 1 1/2 turns out from in position.

I've got the same throttle arm as your carburetor in my '62. Stock accelerator linkage bolts right up. Look in the manual, but I believe the initial settings of the 2 mixture screws is 1.5 turns out.
