"Aluminized" paint for mufflers
I am planning on putting magnaflows on my stock style exhaust system. The system is aluminized. I I have the mufflers welded on, I want to protect the welded area with a heat resistant. Who makes a good aluminum paint that is heat tolerant?
Also, should I have the new mufflers welded or just use clamps?
Thanks

paint the old mufflers first...
... see how it looks. Trust me, you may not like the appearance. I got my paint from LIC, but wasn't happy with the finish. Has anybody else tried other products that they have liked?

I'd just clamp them, so you can remove them a lot easier if you need to.

Not only that but it makes it a lot easier to adjust them so that they look right from the rear... Dave..

If you are going for originality, follow the advice above. If you are going for performance and longevity, consider having everything jet-hot coated. They can jet hot over aluminized pipe. Get everything fitted and then take it apart and send it off. The appearance is good, the coating will reduce heat in the car, and the pipes/mufflers will last longer.
